It’s that time of year and cookies are almost like their own food group come the Holiday season!  Once again, we have your back when the cookie tray attacks, just make this and take it with you for a healthier option when the cravings just won’t stop!

Citrus Chocolate Chip Cookies

*Separate 2 eggs and let whites sit to reach room temp

*Preheat Oven to 375 & line tow baking sheets with parchment paper

Add to a Bowl and sift together

1 c Oat Flour

1/2c Protein powder of your liking

¼ tsp baking powder and baking salt

½ tsp fine sea salt

Add to a Bowl and stir together

1/2c Coconut or Safflower Oil

¼ c Unsweetened Apple Sauce

1/4c Fresh lemon and orange juice + zest of both

¼ c Sorghum or Coconut Nectar

1 tsp Vanilla extract

Add sifted flour mixture to the second bowl and stir just till combined then add dark chocolate chips and evenly distribute them throughout the batter

Portion out 1 tbl spoon balls and flatten each ball with a fork as you place them on parchment paper lined trays.

Bake until golden brown on top or around 15 minutes and let cool for one hour…..then devour!
